Writing niche ads

An adult webmaster resource...

Written by Tom from Tom's Newbie Booster

For a lot of people (including me) the idea of writing your own adverts on a website can seem very alien. I'm sure there are very few of us lucky enough to have had any formal training in how to write good ads. But without knowing how to make any kinds of advert, anyone (even new people in this business) can use a few common-sense steps to make their pages a lot more profitable.

Making your own ads, or 'custom ads' as they are often referred to takes more time than adding a pre-made banner but it works very well. Start making your own as soon as possible. Use them on any kind of adult project - TGP galleries, free sites - you name it! When you type an advert onto a webpage, you're talking directly to the surfers. Making my own ads has always gotten way more interest (even from so called 'tough' traffic) than just using a banners.

Step 1: Decide what to sell

Every site or page should have a clear aim as to what it wants to sell. Picking which paysites you want to promote is the first step. I've written a lot about niche marketing and the most important step is to a) pick something specialized to sell and b) find a Paysite that has that kind of content. To make sales, a lot of things need to be working together. These two elements should be decided upon before you start up the web browser.

This guide also assumes that you are going to get these ads under the right people's eyes. So if you make a blonde porn site, with niche blonde ads - you're not then going to get surfers to that site that want to see girls with red hair. niche ads will only work if you get niche surfers to them. They're dynamite but you've got to get them in front of the right people. This is something that happens all the time on TV, magazines, and other established media. Advertisers target people who they know will be interested in what they're selling. It's simple and essential to making the sale.

Step 2: Learning the terminology of a niche

Unless you're the world's kinkiest person out there (oh - you are?), there will be times when you come to promote a Paysite and you don't have a clue where to start. What should you say to your audience? It would be great to be an expert in every fetish and niche out there - but that's not possible. When I came to promote the balloon fetish niche recently, for example, I didn't have a clue what to say to those surfers. But a little research into the niche gave me at least an idea of the kinds of things that happened in that niche. Spending even a few minutes researching into any niche will pay off.

As always, grab a note pad and pen. (If anyone ever finds this notepad - it's likely you'll be committed!) Then go to Google.com and search for phrases relating to the niche you're going to write adverts for. While some pages won't prove helpful, you should also find many paysites and free sites listed which contain information you can learn from. There will be a lot of FPAs listed too - each with information you can read and take notes from. Also go to the tour of the Paysite you're promoting AND similar tours of other sponsor's you've signed up with. Soak it all up.

Paysite tours don't always get it right, but some will give you a good grasp of the language and dialogue you should be working into your ads. Read the bits of text which appear on the tour. You can re-type many of the bits of text which appear on the tour of the Paysite you're promoting, exactly as they appear, and they'll be excellent stand-alone text ads by themselves. Often, from the first page of a tour alone, you can get enough material to fill a gallery or site with 100% niche-relevant ads.

REMEMBER: You do not need to be an expert in a niche to start promoting it or to write your own ads for it.

Step 3: Writing your niche ads

When you come to formulating your own ads, this page could help:

Adult Advertizing Ideas Sheet
http://www.tomsnewbiebooster.com/adult-advertising-ideas-sheet.html

It's also helpful on those days when you don't feel full of inspiration or good ideas. It lists a lot of the mechanics behind getting surfers to go to a sponsor and to get them thinking about what they're missing out on.

You can talk about any part of this Paysite you want to and let your imagination run wild. Or you could talk about the site as a whole:

"This was the best ebony porn site I've ever joined in my life. I've been a member for over 3 months now and it just keeps getting better and better..."

Write the ads whichever way you like - in your own style. The main thing, and the most important part to get from this article, is to keep relating everything you're saying to the niche that you're working in. If you think that this Paysite seems to talk a lot about "live sex shows", and for example it's for a foot fetish site, then don't just say:

"Great live shows - click here for a preview"...

Say something more like:

"Live FOOT FETISH shows - click here for a preview"

Keep working the niche in to your adverts. If you're making a site which promotes an Asian sex niche site then don't just put:

"The hottest hardcore site you'll ever have visited..."

Write an ad which is niche-specific, like this:

"This Asian sex site is the hottest you'll ever visit..."

And remember the golden rule of sending traffic to a Paysite tour. If you want to see good sales earned on the people you send to a tour - don't promise them something which isn't mentioned clearly on the tour. If you're promoting a pregnant girls Paysite, do not say something like:

"Pregnant girls fuck live!"

Unless that's mentioned plainly and boldly on the tour - preferably on the very first page of the tour. Writing niche ads will get good traffic to a sponsor but if you promise them something that's not there - why would they buy something? Watch out for hiccups like those - they can be harmful to sales.

Step 4: Check the ads

The final step here is just to check over the initial steps and make sure that your ads:

Are 100% related to the niche.
Use the right kinds of terms.
That what you've promised in your ads is talked about on the tour.

Happy ad writing and I hope it makes you some serious $$!!!
