Trading Links - Some Fast Tips

* TRADE WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW! This will cut down greatly on the problems you will have with people taking down your links and not informing you and basically by working with people you have spoken to on the boards - you're doing your site a BIG favour.

* TRADE WITH PEOPLE WITH TRAFFIC! Go to Yahoo and look for the sites listed in the category you are in. Try to swap some links with some of those guys and you'll see some nice traffic from Yahoo indirectly but it will still be very good for you. Looking for traffic from people already getting it from a good source is smart thinking.

* TRUST NO ONE! LOL! No - it's not an episode of the X-Files! It's just a case of being careful and not having a link to someone who has no intention of adding your link. Be vigilant and give people good time to add your link and then email them. When you have done all you can - move on and use that space for another link that will actually add yours.

* TEXT LINKS! I always prefer text links to banners or buttons. It would have to be something special for a button and I'd NEVER use a banner. The only banners I have on MY sites are the ones that pay my bills and make me the money I need. I see a lot of Adult Webmasters using buttons where text links will do so try at all costs to use TEXT ONLY recips.

* LOCATION... Add your recips where they can be seen. NEVER on a links page. That's like saying I have added your link in a place where it will never be found But seriously - make an effort to put the link somewhere good. The base of your main page is good and if you use a table layout - you can basically have lots of recips down there without getting too cluttered...

* ADD THEIR LINK FIRST... Let me ask you a question. What would you find more appealing and be most likely to add a link back to? "Please add my link and let me know if you'd like to swap links" OR "Hi there - I love your site and have added your link HERE - a link back would be great!" You don't need to answer - you already know that one :-)))

* COMMUNICATION SKILLS. When you email these guys - be CLEAR and courteous and treat them well. If you send a polite email to the webmaster then you'll have a better chance of getting a link back. Have their link in place and be specific about WHERE you have added their link and WHERE you would like to be listed. A common mistake is to forget this.

* FINALLY - EMAIL - if you are not sure what the webmaster's email IS then why not send an email to webmaster@domain.com - 99% of Adult Webmasters will have taken advantage of the email forwarding and you can send an email to anything@domain.com and it will more than likely get to them. Also - why not add a link on your page that says - WANNA TRADE LINKS? And link that to your email?
