TGPs and Link Lists - where are they?

A new adult webmaster's guide to finding places to submit to

Written by Tom from Tom's Newbie Booster

You've just finished your latest gallery (or site!), everything's looking just the way you want it to, and it's time to get it out there in front of the one-handed-typing community. But where do you list this thing? When you're starting out it's often hard finding places to add your latest creation too. This is a quick look at one of the best way's I've found to dig out TGPs and link lists you can add a site / gallery to.

Part of your job as a link list site builder, OR a TGP gallery builder, is to make your OWN list of places you can submit to every time you make something new. So when you find a new potential traffic sender, make sure you keep it in a text file. Link list and TGP submit pages change constantly too - so this is an on-going work. Keep this text file very handy.

Most webmasters are un-willing to share their list of favorite traffic senders. This is understandable as it probably took them a long time to build up. But that's no problem - we're going to learn how to build up a very good list of possible traffic senders.

To speed things up in this department, you may want to make your own submit tool. This is just a couple of webpages which will help speed up submitting. Read more on that here:

[ Making your own auto-submitter ]

Google

Is there anything that Google can't do? It can even help you find places to submit to. Go to Google and search for the niche you'd like to submit to, mixed with either TGP or Link List. Here's some examples:

gay tgp
bbw link list
interracial tgp

And go through as many of the results pages as you can. You should find an array of TGPs and link lists that you can use. It's not the most effective method but it can be a good way to dig out niche TGPs or link lists. BUT - check the note on traffic at the end of this article.

Webmaster Resources & private listings

Webmaster resources usually have a section devoted to link lists and TGPs. These are useful as a starting point, although these lists can contain a lot of pages that aren't there any more (it's very hard to keep an up-to-date list of TGPs or link lists because they move or disappear frequently). One of the best places to start is Traffic Matrix - http://www.trafficmatrix.com/ And another really good one is the Links Machine - http://www.thelinkmachine.com/ - where it's possible to search for link lists or TGPs which are in a certain niche. You could get it to bring up places you could add a BBW free site to, for example.

There's also some private lists which webmasters are willing to share. Here's an excellent tool from Chef, which is a great source of link lists to submit to: http://ratedxlist.com/llsubmits/

Submission tools

Although I don't recommend you use an auto-submitter for the large TGPs and link lists (the ones capable of sending you big traffic), most of these tools come with a database of at least 100 major TGPs and link lists. I use GASS, which came with all of the major TGPs pre-installed, so that was another good starting point in finding places to submit to. There are a lot of other submission tools on the market these days too, who have all done their research and found the major TGPs and link lists.

Stats listings

This really has to do with the TGPs, because I don't know of any of these listings for the link lists as of yet. But there's two places at least I can think of which have actual traffic stats that the webmaster got from each TGP.

So those can be good ways to dig out the major TGPs.

Trawling - the best method

About the most efficient and productive way to find current link lists to submit to is to go to start at one of the major TGPS or link lists out there. Here are two starting points:

A major TGP: http://www.worldsex.com/

A major Link List: http://www.richards-realm.com/links/

And once you're there start to visit the galleries or sites listed. I've posted about how useful it is to surf your competition's sites and galleries, but this is something different. This time you're going to ignore whatever they've done on their sites or galleries, and look directly for their reciprocal links. These are small graphics which link BACK to the link list or TGPs.

You'll find them:

At the very top or bottom of the gallery.
On the first page of the free site (normally just above the ENTER link).

NOTE: Some sites and galleries are what's called 'clean' - they won't have any reciprocal links back to the TGP or link lists. The webmaster could have paid to be listed there, or it could be a sponsor-hosted gallery that the TGP owner added. Skip these and look for pages with recip links on them. Most pages will have 3 or more recip links you can follow.

There's more help on recip links here:

[ What's a recip? ]

When you find a reciprocal link, click it. You'll be taken to the TGP or link list's home page. Hunt around for the "Webmasters - submit here" type link. (It's normally at the very top or bottom of the main page of listings). You've just found another TGP / Link List to add to your growing submit list. And you should be able to use this method to uncover all of the major TGPs and link lists out there - the ones your competition are using to get their traffic TODAY.

Traffic: a note

Finding new TGPs and link lists is one thing - but there's a lot more to it than that. The main problem is that there are TGPs and link lists out there of all different levels. They don't all get the same amount of traffic each day. Some TGPs are very new and only get literally tens of surfers each day. Others can SEND YOU hundreds of thousands of visitors.
