REVIEW of GoClick.com
An adult webmaster article...

What's the deal?
GoClick is a pay per click search engine. Once you have signed up with them (which is FREE!) you will be able to get traffic instantly. Each surfer that they send to you will cost anything from 1 cent upwards. The more you pay for each visitor they send you, the better ranking you'll get.
Getting started...
Although the sign-up process with GoClick was relatively easy, activating the account was a different story. They have a very strict credit card anti-fraud system in place, which involves you calling up your credit card company, getting the last 2 amounts that were charged to your account, and then verifying these with GoClick.com. I found this very daunting - too complicated. At one point, I almost threw in the towel altogether, but I persevered and managed to get funded.
What GoClick can do the adult webmaster?
After getting past this initial hurdle, I was very pleased with the 'inside' of the advertisers area. The main reason for this is that GoClick IS tailored with the adult webmaster in mind. If you've read any of my other PPC reviews, you'll remember that I've been less than happy with the way PPC search engines deal with adult webmasters. Well, I'm happy to say, that's not the case here. You can have a FULLY adult title, an adult description and bid on adult terms. Exit consoles are fine, and there's no strict review policy.
Christmas time!
Some of the features advertisers at GoClick get are nothing short of ingenious. There's a helpful 'hot tip' section, the ability to download your keywords to a spreadsheet, excellent editing facilities, and much more. There's also extensive help files, for the newcomer, as well as keyword analysis tools. There wasn't anything I found myself wanting for with regards to GoClick's function and tools.
A better listing.
Unlike Google's Adwords, with GoClick you ARE the 'real' results of the search engine. Your advert is a title and a description - just as if you'd submitted the site and it was part of the search engine's results. Your ads are also added INSTANTLY, which was a big boost. There's nothing worse than having to wait for a review, such as Overture's 3 - 5 working days. It was great to see my ads appearing instantly.
Playing the bidding game...
Bidding is very straight forward if you're used to any of the other PPC engines out there.
1) Find keywords that are likely to be searched for.
2) bid 1 cent on each keyphrase.
3) see where you rank and decide if you want to pay MORE to get a better ranking.
This process was made simple by GoClick's other useful feature - the bidding guide. A nice visual display shows WHERE you rank under a particular phrase, and how much the bids above and below you are paying. Then it's a case of deciding if you want to pay MORE for that higher position.
But it's not ALL good!
As well thought-out as GoClick is, there's still some flaws with it - the major one being it's traffic.
Although the features at GoClick far outstrip those you'll find at Overture, it has a small fraction of it's traffic. At the end of the day - if a PPC search engine hasn't for the muscle to send you decent traffic, then you're in trouble. Obscure phrases COULD be a waste of time here, and even the very popular phrases are not going to bring in massive amounts of surfers. Don't expect to get rich from GoClick's traffic alone.
On the up-side - it looks as if GoClick ARE aware of this problem, and are working to improve it. One interesting plus is that they've partnered up with a number of ADULT search engines, such as Sinfoseek, which will help increase adult traffic.
Summing up:
GoClick is a nice little pay per click search engine. Definitely one worth that's keeping an eye on, and looking into.
