Mining niche domain names tutorial
An adult webmaster resource...
This is a bit of a strange one.
I've been playing around recently with a system I've come up with to find new and interesting domains. It involves two pieces of software, overture suggestions, and an online tool that I made. But it's something that anyone can have a go at... It could help you find some domains for the niche you're working in. It lets you check the availability of hundreds of domains in a matter of seconds. There's four steps in all.
Step 1) Picking phrases
This is the easy part.
Go to Overture's suggestion tool - http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
Do a search on any phrase or word which is related to your niche. Eg "mature sex".
You'll then get the normal page of popular phrases which surfers actually searched for last month.
Press CTRL + A to select every word on the page - even the text at the top of the page.
And then press CTRL + C to copy the whole lot to the computer's memory.
Step 2) Removing the numbers
Go to my keyword strip tool - http://www.topniche.com/newbie-booster/resources/overture-strip/
Left click in the big white box.
Press CTRL + V in that box and all the text we just copied should appear in it.
Now press the "Strip!" button. This removes all the numbers that the overture search lists next to the keyphrases.
Right click in the box and choose 'Select All'.
Press CTRL + C to copy the whole lot to the computer's memory.
Step 3) Removing the spaces
You'll need to download and install the free version of NoteTab lite - http://www.notetab.com for this next section.
Once it's installed, start it up and then press CTRL + V to paste the text into NoteTab.

Search Term Suggestion Tool

Enter a term related to your site and we will show you:

Count Search Term
... from the top of the list of keyphrases.
Then press CTRL + R.
In the top box put a space.
Then click Replace All.
You'll now have a long list of keyphrases which do not have spaces in them.
Press CTRL + A and then CTRL + C to copy the list to the computer's memory.
Don't worry - we're nearly done...
Step 4) Making the domains and checking their availability
You'll need the free software 'Domain Name Analyzer' - http://www.findgoodnames.com/
Start the software up.
Click on this icon:

Then press CTRL + V in the white box and paste all the words into there.

Click OK.
Then click this icon:

Then this one:

The software then goes and checks up on all of the domain names we just created. In the case of 'mature sex' - the example phrase I used earlier on, here are some of the domains that it dug up for me:
maturesexphoto.com
matureoldsex.com
hardmaturesex.com
maturesexmpeg.com
maturewifesex.com
maturesexchat.com
From here, you can make a note of any domain names that you like the look of, and then register them wherever it is you buy your domain names.
We could also have replaced the space in the keyphrases with a hyphen - in step 3). This would bring up a different set of domain names.
So there it is - a different way to dig out some domains that might be of use to you.
I actually managed to find some that get type-in traffic. Not much - but it was interesting all the same.
