Back to BASICS : Looking at RECURRING CASH!

An adult webmaster resource...

Written by Tom from Tom's Newbie Booster

I just wanted to go over a few points for the new folks here in the business and on this board about a pretty important part of making it as an adult webmaster - recurring sales. You might have ideas about some of the different ways that you can make money as an adult webmaster. And you might have heard about pay-per-sign-up and pay-per-click programs, which are pretty self-explanatory, but don't forget about working in some recurring-sales programs too.

How rebilling works...

When a surfer joins an adult website, they go and buy a membership from the owners of that site with an automated webpage form. They have a set time of probably around 3 days to test out the site and then after that, their credit card is automatically billed again for a 'full month'. This is a rebill. The month starts from the time the card was first charged for the full month and this charge will happen each month until the surfer goes and cancels their membership.

Which brings us to recurring sales for the webmaster!

A 'recurring payout' sponsor is one that does not pay you for that one-time sale but also pays you for each time the credit card is rebilled (including the period 3 days after the sale). You are paid a percentage of what is made. These types of program are often called partner programs because it's very much like a partnership. You're sending the traffic and the owner of the Paysite handles everything else and the profits are split between you. The average ratio is that you'll get 50% - 60% of the money your surfer pays.

So, let's look at an example here.

Joe Surfer clicks link on your website, and goes to a recurring sponsor.

He pays $2.99 initially. You get $1.79 in your account on day one.
(Hey! That's not gonna make us rich!!!)

Come day 3, his credit card is 'rebilled' for $29.99. You make $17.99
(It's looking better...)

That surfer stays for 4 more months and then leaves the site. You make another $71.97
(Wahoo! We made a total of $91.75)

WAIT! There's a downside!

Before you go taking down all your regular pay per click and pay per sign-up programs, let's think about this for a second. This is too good to be true right? Well, there IS a catch. Like everything in the adult webmaster business - there's an up-side and a down-side. The 'down' is that not all surfers stay that long. Some join up, download all the content they can and then move on before the card is rebilled. Boom! You made $1.79 on a sign-up which would have made you $35 at a pay per sign-up sponsor.

Hitting the balance - why recurring programs are important...

The fact of the matter is that not ALL surfers will leave in such a short space of time. By average, you'll still make a lot of money with these kinds of programs. What happens is that they are kind of slow to start off with and then the income starts to 'snowball'. While the initial sales are basically enough to buy you a coffee and a snickers, you WILL get some really good members who live the site you've sold them, and will stay for many months. And here's the GOLDEN part of these programs:

You don't need to have any NEW sales to have a VERY profitable day!

Yup - say you have an awful week where new sign-ups on your regular programs go down the toilet. The credit card companies out there will STILL be doing the rebilling rounds and you'll still get a bunch of recurrings. It's another way to create a safety net for your business and it's a form of diversifying your income.

Where to start?

Here's a superb list of partnership programs which is broken into niche and which clearly shows the % of cash you'll earn. I've been using this list for many years now:

Good luck and go get some of that recurring cash!
