Pushing webmaster traffic to a TGP / LINK LIST!

There are a lot of competing TGPs out there and I know myself that it can be pretty tough to get a good number of regular submissions flowing in to the gallery. It's kind of a catch 22 situation - you can't get traffic until you have some submissions and you won't get the submissions unless you get the traffic. Which brings me onto my first suggestion...

Establishing traffic as a means to build submissions...

Webmasters tend to be a lot more analytical of traffic sources these days. (Which is GREAT! - that's exactly what they should be!) And they'll watch their stats to see which TGPs and link lists are actually worth their effort. After all, none of us really have so much time that we can afford to waste it submitting to places that don't send any traffic, right? So USE this. Make sure that your TGP is getting and SENDING good numbers of traffic. You want to build up a good base of submitters to your TGP and you'll have to show them results to do this.

Reciprocal links - don't just get you traffic!

My advice to anyone starting a TGP or link list is NOT to start off on a "no recip" basis. Sure, you'll get LESS submissions, but your reciprocal links are very important on a number of levels. They get exposure to your TGP, they get you traffic back from the gallery or site, and they also get you more WEBMASTERS! This is especially true if you're working in a specific niche like "foot fetish" or "black girls". Webmasters know that there aren't TOO many good TGPs and LLs in each of those areas so when they see your recip on the competition's sites - they'll want to submit to you.

The right way to use adult webmaster chat boards!

Now, the place where most adult webmasters come on a regular basis are either boards like this one, or threaded forums like some of the other cool resources out there have. Now, it's obviously very tempting to go and post something like, "PLEASE - come and submit to my great link list" - but that's only gonna make you look bad, and the post will get pulled. Instead, BECOME part of those communities, participate in the discussions and help people out when you can. You'll see a lot more submissions that way - and ALWAYS use the box in the post forms to add your submit page link.

Networking with other link list and TGP owners.

At the same time you're starting your link list of TGP, there will be a LOT of other webmasters starting similar ventures. Why not make life a little easier for yourself and see if you can trade some traffic AND trade submit links from either your submit page OR your confirmation / thank you page. This is a really great way to build up more submissions to your traffic source, and it's something that I've always done too. It involves a bit of running around and emailing people but use the chat forums again - just tell folks that you're looking for such a trade.

Have ya got other TGPs / Link Lists? USE 'EM!

When I started my foot fetish link list, I knew that I could use my established foot fetish TGP to get myself more submissions. So I just did what I was talking about in the last paragraph, I put a link from the thank you page to the submit page of the other traffic source. And why not? It's helping the webmasters as it gives them somewhere else to submit their sites and it's helping me as I'll get more exposure to my new traffic source. You also need to go add it to every resource out there and have a place ready to put all the largish recips back to them...

Building submissions is very much like building TRAFFIC - it's a question of patience and regular hard work and perseverance. But it's very possible and after a few months, you should be seeing the kinds of submissions that will allow you to have regular, good updates. And be selective. If someone has not given you a recip link back then screw 'em - don't add that site or gallery. Ask for the best and that's what you'll get.
