Getting Listed: At the link lists

Link lists are not impossible to get listed at and can be an invaluable source of traffic to new adult webmasters. Here are some tips which should help you meet most of the link list owners rules out there.

DO:

	Have 20 pictures on your website.
	Put the recip links above the ENTER link.
	Use correct picture sizes. Examples: 600 x 400 \| 500 x 350
	Use 8 recips per mirror in total.
	Mirror using duplicated folders, NOT entry pages.
	Have some good legal text on the first page.
	Check you have the LATEST version of the required recip link.
	Validate your HTML code and check it in different browsers.
	Ask for a review before submission on one of the boards.
	Mouseovers - they MUST show the URL the link goes to.
	Have the content on the same domain as the site.
	Use a table to arrange recips.
	Run Xenu on your pages to check for links that don't work.
	NOTE: Xenu will also find images that don't work.

DON'T:

	Have more than two ads per page.
	Use misleading words in ads like 'Enter' or 'Next'.
	Put pics on HTML pages
	Over-compress your pictures or thumbs.
	Resize pictures in the HTML code.
	Alter the recip link.
	Use pop-up windows.
	Use blur / pop-under windows.
	Use free hosting.
	Use slow / unreliable hosting.
	Open recip links in a NEW window.
	Use censored pics.
	Use sponsor content.

Gray Areas

Here's a list of some things which some link lists allow, but some do not. There's no really easy answer to this one. Something like a FPA will make you more money - BUT not everywhere accepts them. Think about creating a list of link lists which DO accept FPAs and then submitting a mirror version with a FPA to those places.

	Full Page Ads
	Pictures on HTML pages
	Money bars

Other tips

Here's some general quick tips which will help get you listed.

	Always read the rules page of EVERY link list you submit to.
	Re-check those rules pages carefully.
	Surf EVERY site in the category you are going to submit to.
	The pictures should match the site. Eg. Black pics on a black site.
	Make an effort to send some traffic back to the link list.
	Be patient - it could take 2 weeks to get listed.
	Slow loading pages will cause problems. Keep graphic sizes down etc.
	On the really big link lists - there's not enough room for every site.
	Not enough nudity in pics can sometimes be a problem.
