Whatever level you're at in this business, chances are you're not far away from buying your next generic domain name. What do I mean by a "generic domain name"? Simply a domain name (eg. domain-name.com) where you don't describe a certain niche within the name.

Some times you just need a name that you can build a variety of sites or pages under. While you CAN use any domain name and make any site on there, I think it helps to have a general kind of name where you can create sub-folders that then become the niche name.

Some uses for generic domain names are:
• TGP / TGP 2 gallery posting in different niches.
• Where you want to have multiple, sites in different niches on one domain.
• Pay per click - where you again might have different sites.
Picking the name out can be tricky, so here's some tips to help:
• Try adding hyphens between the words if the name you want was taken.
• Think about a place eg.

• Use a person's name:

Be abstract, be weird, try some crazy things. And above all, remember not to get specific. Test out in your mind what some sub-folders for the different niches out there would look like on this domain.
