I'm getting ready to dump ALL but about 5-6 sponsors that I do well with. Sending lots of wasted hits to dry holes. Geez, what happened to the 90's. Cybererotica was one of my main sponsors then and was getting 8-10 $35 signups PER DAY just from them back then. 100+ hits a day going to Xpics at $.15 cents per click. Oh the good old days.

I've got 1 sponsor now that I got a signup about 2 years ago and on the 18th of every month I get the recurring billing of $14.95 from that signup. The guy must have a real boner for some chick or guy on that site.

SIDE NOTE: Argued in court about 3 weeks ago in front of a Judge about our high property taxes. Acted as my own attorney against the Twp attorney and tax assesor. Gues what? I WON. Just got notice 2-3 days ago. Twp will owe me several thousand dollars in wrong taxes that I have previously paid. THAT'S ONE FOR THE GOOD GUYS ... EVEN CRAZY ERNIE IS HAPPY.

Our neighbor has 2 teenage sons also but the worst fixer upper is him. He is mid 50's and I can't remember the last time I saw him without a wrench in his hand, greasy clothes. Sort of reminds me of my neighbor. I live in a nice subdivision with well kept houses ... EXCEPT for my neighbor. He has NO LESS than 6 cars in front of his house. 1.A blue 87 chevy with more rust than metal and hasn't been on the road for 4-5 years. 2. A black Olds that needs a transmission 3. A black ? that needs a motor. 4. A 96 Suburban that smokes bad when it does run. 5. A Ford pickup that runs but makes more noise than a 747 jet. 6. His wifes not bad 2003 Malibu.

At any point during the week there is at least 3 hoods in the air, 2-3 cars jacked up with cranks, belts and/or wires hanging out the bottom, 4-5 flat tires with a compressor running to pump up tires.

Plus, he has a John Deere ride on snow plow that has been sitting in the same spot for OVER 20 YEARS in front of his carport. Hasn't moved an inch other than with earth vibrations in that 20 years.

We live about 1 city block from a stop light. I've seen him start his pickup truck 7-8 times lots of times before he gets to the stop light.

R U SURE we don't have relatives as neighbors?

we have a new neighbor...who - apparently - isn't too bright. i was up working at 5:30, this morning, and heard him in the road, having trouble with his car. it kept dying on him. he'd drive a few feet and it would die again. each time it was harder and harder for him to start. seems that EVERY time he cranked it, he had his HEADLIGHTS turned on! NOW, i'm not one to poke fun at people who have car trouble - i've definitely had MY share - and have even driven cars across country that "normal" people wouldn't dare drive around the block. in other words - a car (to me) is a tool to get from point a to point b (in the best case scenario). what struck me funny is the neighbor also had rims on the car that actually cost double what the car was worth. go figure.

almost all the tgp/link list scripts have a banned/blacklisted script and often tgps share those lists, as one person may own many tgps and or link lists...
yea, frowned upon alot anymore, except certian ones in certian quarters and then from well known webmasters only...

i use to use one..and it put out about a hundred galleries a day with links to 300+ tgps on them...and i've had the avs one that i made like 3,000+ avs sites from...and i now do it by hand daily...that in it's self should tell people something

Do they really get you banned? Seems a bit pointless, I just assumed the makers of the software must have some agreement with the link list owners. I do remember a tgp auto submitter having two lists, one which it did the submissions automatically (as you'd expect) and a smaller list where you had to enter some of the details by hand (only half automated).

But I don't submit tgp or free sites anymore, I'm way out of the loop and hardly know what I'm talking about nowadays

Find someone else's bdsm related free site, like this one I picked at random ...

Scroll down the page a little and you'll lots of links to other bdsm related sites, just above the "enter" and "exit" links.

These are recips (reciprocal links) that lead to other places that this webmaster has submitted this site to.

You can follow each of these links and you can submit there too.

Easy, sort of.

You will struggle to find an existing webmaster who is willing to hand out a list of good directories / link list sites. The reason being it takes a lot of time and hard work to build up a decent list of places to submit.

You just have to try them yourself and watch to see how many hits the places send back. Weed out the non productive sites and keep replacing with new ones to try. After a few months you'll have yourself a decent list.

Remember that not every site will accept your submissions, maybe because the person in charge doesnt like your sites, or some other unknown reason. Thus your list of good places to submit to will be different to someone else's.

But now you have at least 12 places to submit too from the one example site I picked at random from google. Follow other peoples sites and see where they submit to as well.

Alternatively, you can pay for an auto submitter where they do the hard work and keep the submission sites (list of link lists) up to date. Check this link ...

Although you have to pay to use the above tool, if it generates a single sale of up to $25 in a month, it will have paid for itself. If I was doing free sites I think paying $25 for an auto submitter would be well worth it, considering the time and effort it takes in generating such a list in the first place.

Needless to say I'm not affiliated with the above urls / sites in any way. Just using them to illustrate your two options.

1) follow the first example and invest your time and effort in building up your own list.

2) pay a small monthly charge, recoup it with a single decent sale per month, and save lots of time and effort.

ok, lets start with the linking...
in adult, an AB link is a simple strat forward hard link trade..I put up a link to your site and you put one up to mine..
a recip link is what you do on an entrance/warning page of a free site(there are also recips for tgping, toplists, ffas, ect..but we won't go into that)..basicly for a recip link your go to the link list, read thier rules for getting listed, place their link on your entrance page, above the enter link(you can do this with up to 40 or so of them if you do it respectfully and in an uncluttered manner)...you then go back to the link lists, once you have thier recip links up and submit to them your site...some will list you witnin a day or two..others may take up to 2-3 months before you get listed..big backlogs..
most will NOT email you one way or the other...even if they say so...you will just see the traffic..

basic free site model is as ritto described it, but you do get some traffic...it depends on the niche you submit to and where...bdsm may get 500 or so surfers in your first week..where lesbians may get 3,000 or surfers in the first week...if you do one site a day and submit them to the same sources you multiply your traffic...no one makes a living off a single free site...if you average a couple signups nowadays off each one, you are very lucky indeed..
most places will list you in thier new sections and also in the catagory of your niche..
this means you get a traffic bump initialy and then it peters off for the long term...but even at 10 hits a day long term with a 100 sites, that's a 1,000 hits a day...so it does build...

you don't go buy a domain for each free site, in fact you should use subdomains for them...
such as these are each different sites on the same domain.

I've not done the classic freesite since some time last millenium, literally, so I'm no help whatsoever in where to submit you link, or who still sends reasonable traffic. Sorry.

A classic free site in my mind means ...

1) a warning page
2) a main page with advertising and links to 2 gallery pages
3) 2 gallery pages

What I do remember is that no single free site ever gets much traffic. The idea is to keep building them, at least one a day. Over the course of time the small drop of traffic each site gets starts to add up. It's a matter of numbers, you need lots of free sites so you'll have to keep building. I found it quite tedious thus I experimented with other types of sites and gave up on free sites.

Even if you stick to building free sites I strongly suggest specialising in a certain area (niche) of bdsm. When you start to target very small niches then the surfers tend to find you, rather than you have to work harder to find them.

Its just a free website, no tpg. No, I dont know what a AB link trade/exchange is.
With that said, is anyone able to at least make some suggestions yet on any adult directories I can do a link trade with that will return any traffic?

so we are well versed on traffic generation for them..
so let us know so we can give you proper feedback..

and don't buy traffic, at this stage it's going to be a waste of your money...it's rare that it isn't..and only then in hands of people who have had lots of experience and fine tuning of it..

My problem is in the link building area as Adult is all new to me. Ive did the exchanges with other Bdsm releted websites and thats covered, but I would like to try and gain some traffic with directory link exchanges, but so far the only one that sent me any traffic is naughty.com, the rest have delivered zero. So would appreciate if anyone can suggest some other directories where its worth exchanging some links?
Also, any suggestions on where I might buy some honest and real traffic?

but first we need to know what type of adult site you have..
are you trying to build traffic to a gallery pf pics, movies, chats, information, ..is it a free site promoting other pay sites, is it a pay site, social networking type of site, ect..
each has it's own type of traffic generation techniques..so knowing what type we are talking about can only help us in helping you..

start with submitting your sites to the SE(search engines..like google, yahoo, bing..ect)
and daily build supporting sites and structures to feed traffic into your site...but more on that once i know what type of site you have and are talking about..

It's not like lets say shoes where like Sears might pay $12 a pair for 1 million sets of shoes then mark the $99 for a couple weeks, then mark them $20 off, then mark them $40 off and when they get to the point of selling about 80% of them they mark them Discontinued: Regular $99 NOW JUST $29.95 HURRY, THESE WON'T LAST AT THIS PRICE.

The markup in coins from wholesale to retail is usually around 20-30%. 1 ounce gold coins currently have a bid of 1193.20 per coin and an ask of $1205.45 in the wholesale market. Jeff, do you have more of a general recip I can use for your link list...i really dislike catgory ones..and alot of times it falls inbetween the niches you have, might fit in them slightly..enough for listing..and alot of link lists won't link to you without the sites name(generally the URL name too)...if so let me know..

ritto, yea...but remember, my hard drive crashed a few months back and i lost alot of things...i have changed thousands of links...but ones from like 10-15 years back..well unless i see them getting traffic via server stats then i'm not even aware of them...
you see i had a script a long time back..where i built over 2,000 or was it 3,000 avs sites and entrances one year..which also submitted them too...and had it's own internal link list and filtering as well..so it was cool..custom written basicly..
so alot out there of mine i might not have even seen!

I've recently taken the time to go searching for old dead links on all my tgp's, toplists and one pagers. As I have a copy of all my sites on my PC I've been using the search facility in the 'start' menu to search my hard drive for any pages with the relevant linking code.

I'm reasonably confident its going well. It's a bit of a pain having to upload all the fixed pages html pages though. I have my sites spread out over 4 different servers so just working out where the particular domain is located is a hassle to begin with. Its so hard being an adult webmaster

I'm trying to get Tom's "contact me" script to allow either an email addy OR a phone number into the form.

But it must allow 1 or the other....but not missing two.

one reason i regularly check my SE traffic..and follow up on what old pages are getting regular SE traffic, and switch out any left over links..
a good habit to get into for people...

well man, i'd say there are plenty out there...

but something not mentioned is alot of programs that moved to different processors, stats systems and so on that basicly any signup you send from past works, you'll not know about...i honestly think that those type of change overs often mean the sponsor wants to keep that traffic to themselves and the source unawares..
while some do translate over..i'm sure alot don't..
so i consider those programs dead too...

ok, it looks like you need to talk to your host, any good host, like m3server.com will help you with your script no problem..it seems your path may not be corect if all your permissions are correct and you have ssi enabled on that server(it is not a microsoft based server, RIGHT!...but a unix based one..which are by far the best and most reliable...and on which most scripts are meant to run on)...they can fix it in no time for you...make sure you give them that page url as well..

just quick question and suggestion...
change the user/pass on your hard drive to a fresh unchanged version of it, then upload it..and then try it again..
if that doesn't work, i'd try doing a chmod on it to 777 and of course make sure the folder it is in is chmoded as well..

other than that, no ideal, i don't use that one...in fact there are a couple he has for it...which one are you using...give the url if you can of the tutorial..

i know you asked sweetpea, but i'm going to toss out my two cents. just like in adult, there are MANY mainstream niches. recipes and food do well, but so so fashion and travel, for example. sweetpea has a great overall site that covers a LOT of niches. however, i have a tendency to concentrate a domain on a specific mainstream niche, although i DO have a few "free for all" type mainstream sites where anything goes, just depends on what i want to write about, LOL.

i'd love to trade mainstream links with related sites. i plan on shooting sweetpea an email for link trades on a few of my mainstream niche sites. i'd be interested in trading links with other webmasters, as well...you included!

i'm "kind of" reworking some sites - due to the dwindling economy - to make inexpensive products and INFORMATION available to those who don't have much money to spend and want to save money.

and this isn't counting the tons of sponsors we lost when GloBill went under a few years back...big ouch there..i had just gotten like 30 sales with this one site that week...recurring sales...figure $50 to $100 each on average for each, well you can do the math..ouch!

Surprisingly, my traffic is as strong as ever...if not even stronger as a great % of today's initial traffic comes from SE's
and then filtered by my sites. Unfort. conversions are way, way off.
Probably 80% or more off from 2007.

I do use mostly use the larger programs which def. are sucking...but for me...even the smaller, niche oriented sponsors aren't selling anywhere near what they were several years ago.

Gotta blame it on the business model the big boys in adult adopted years and years ago. They gave away too much for free.

Happy to share it but I gotta say...I've tried a dozen or more and so far none have worked for me.

In this case, the music begins playing when the page is loaded. I have a feeling that is the stumbling block. If it were a clicked link, perhaps it would work although I haven't tried that as my friend's music is auto-play.

No problems at all in Firefox.

i also will point out that ritto has developed a very SERIOUS way to move traffic around his own sites. it works!

when it comes to sponsors - particularly - niche-oriented sponsors, i prefer the smaller ones the use ccbill. too many of the "big guns" that i used to do well with bottomed out and no longer convert or have gone (or are going) out of business. i think one of the MAJOR problem with the "big guns" was they tried to cover every niche they possibly could. instead of heavily concentrating on half a dozen or so QUALITY paysites, they started throwing out hundreds of paysites, which extremely diluted the industry.

i don't do nearly as much adult as i used to. i still keep a few domains, but i find mainstream to do very well. however, i have my own way of marketing mainstream that seems to work well for me. and like dandy, i do a LOT of recipe and food sites.

first know that traffic is down all over..the economy is bad and everywhere is suffering...
next, for more traffic, do everything..
tgp, free site building, avs, search engines, social sites, chats, newsgroups, and your own traffic generators..
do them daily and traffic builds...
it's the daily grind that gets the long term traffic flowing..

as for sponsors...each webmaster does best with thier own set of sponsors..waht does best for me or the next guy, won't do the same for you..it all goes on how you build, who you submit to, how you advertise them, where and who you advertise..and what niche and sub niche you promote...alot of variables happen...and not all traffic is as high a quality as others may be..the more targeted you are the more targeted your surfers become, and the fewer they become as well...but no one really gives a shit about how many surfers one gets, it's all about the money made from them...a million surfers a week making you $35 is not as good as 20,000 surfers a week making you a $1,000..
so selling is a huge factor as well..learn to sell, and get targeted with it...stay way from general niches on the whole..like babes, nudes, teens, pornstars, lesbians, mature, and so on...if you want to promote in those, get specific in the subniches and then you help yourself better..

ponfar, i went back and counted..that site has got more like 60 pages..not 27, but they are for the most part real simple pages to make, you can crank most of them out in a minute or less..

actually, there was no reason to see my doctor of go to the hospital. i used the "ritto method" of taping it to the next toe. put ice on it every couple hours for about 30 minutes to bring down the swelling and have been staying off of it. there's not really anything you can do except that.

I never bothered going to the doctor, as unless its a really bad / multiple break, there's nothing they can do. Same with broken fingers. At best, strap broken digit to a good one, not exactly a modern breakthrough in medical science. Anyway, you'll feel a remarkable difference in walking pain levels with 3 to 5 days, as long as you try to stay off it as much as possible in the meantime.

On a side note, my partner has just returned from Florida and while there had to buy some pain killers. She went for iburofen. Its dirt cheap over here (scotland), about 50 cents for a pack of 24. In Florida, it was like $5 for a pack of 100. That's quite a difference, maybe she just chose the wrong shop

yea jeff, the anti right click can do that..they can't see or get the code/url to hotlink in most cases ..something to think about...

hhhmmm...there is one thing you can do...make the page so the surfer can't right click and view code...this should keep most of them from grabbing them...as that usually requires a right click to save it...

Took it for a drive. When used as is....had no effect at all in IE or FF.

When I removed this (9th line including blank line) line:

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$

it now works fine in FF.
In IE it does protect the images but won't allow the WAV and mp3 to play.

i would post the code to the board, but usually boards don't like .htaccess coding so well and things get changed..so it's on a cut and paste area on a page for you.

I'm helping out a friend with their website.

When using .htaccess to protect .jpg, .gif. .png .WAV . MP3 within an /images/ folder....it works fine in Firefox but in IE, it won't allow the .WAV and .MP3 files to auto-play. ( my friend wants the music on his pages ). - the jpg,gif,png files work fine.

The WAV and MP3 are <embedded>

Is there a work-around for this IE problem?

I thought of moving all of the audio files to their own folder....but still no idea how to protect them using .htaccess and still have them auto-play while viewing in IE.

Any suggestions?

Boy ... they are biting the dust one after another. Luckily I dropped them a long time ago. Just couldn't convert them. So, happily, I don't have any links to cut out.

When golfing is over this fall I am going to make a huge change in sponsors I use. Got about 20-25 I use and in reality only about 4-5 of them produce enough to get a monthly check. Some of the others I've been sitting on $70-90 for months and cannot get to the $100 minimum.

I wish all sponsors were like Xpays. If they owe you $1.99 you get a check at the end of the payperiod. ALL sponsors should payup at least monthly what they owe you. They would seriously have many more affiliates signing up IMHO.

another round of heavy storms ripped thru here last night, blew out a fuse....and wouldn't you know it...it was one i didn't have..so after running around to about a half dozen places still open at close to midnight...i still couldn't find one..sigh...but i remembered that my garage, self standing and not hooked into the house fuse panel or box, had it's own fuses...so borrowed one of it's til this morning when the hardware store opened up..

sad thing is that 90% of my house is on the switch type of fuses..upgraded..just a few still on that old type...so what goes...yeppers...that old type..
oh well, got enough now here to last me the next decade or two

moral of the story, be fucking prepared! if not it'll bite you at the worst moment it could and you may be in high 90 heat with no air conditoner if your'e not!
