Twitter has reduced it's limits over the last few days/week to <500 adds. They are suffering growing pains (now supposedly a web top 30 property) and cutting back a bit on some of the things you can do as well.

Staying under the radar saves getting that pesky "suspended for unusual activity" page

good job, ritto! i see you went with the mandigo theme, its my favorite and extremely easy to customize! and yes, i recognized the domain! i KNEW it would be a good one for a blog!

i usually just lump things into a "main" category. mainly (no pun) because each blog is its own "category/niche). pages are just that: pages.

worpress has some excellent plug-ins and once you get the "feel" of what all mandigo can do, its amazing!

i haven't got into "twitter" yet, i'm still waiting to see if this whole internet thing catches on. you know, kind of like color television?

actually (and sadly), i really have NO clue about twitter. i still haven't grasped either (a) how to monetize it or (b) even wtf its actually good for/does. i guess i should probably research it.

I think I hit a daily limit. I tried to 'follow' too many people and now it wont let me follow anymore. I know there's a total limit of 2000 (that can grow under certain circumstances) but I think its a daily limit that I've reached. 450. Bummers, and I was going strong and looking forward to building my list nice and big. I'll start attacking it again tommorrow, if it lets me, and see how I get along.

Anybody want to see my blog? I started working on it 2 days ago although I installed wordpress on the domain many many months ago As with twitter, I've a lot to learn regarding blogs. On a technical level my first confusion came about over the difference between pages and posts, and working out where categories fitted into the grand picture of things.

I now have various categories and when I create a new post, I assign it a category, or 2 if that seems relevant. But what about pages? I suppose its just another way of organising things although at this stage I cant see why I would need multiple pages. I'll need some examples.

note: when dealing with smaller and individual affiliate programs...when they start to give you the "run around," you actually have to almost "beg them" to give you YOUR payment, then they change their payment "rules" on you - SEVERAL - times in a month, without posting them on their website...AND they still don't pay...cut your losses and run like hell!

Its sad news about one of my all time favorite artists - Michael Jackson passing away ://
I was about to buy the tickets for O2 for november this year from a person who got fired recently and could not afford the trip anymore.

Well... you can never know.


Anyhow, tonite i have been having some beers, and it got me into thinking mode. About the future. About the future of porn business in particular. Because, as most of you who are doing this for long time, know, that for last - say 15 or so - years the porn has been a pusher of technology. Many things were developed for this and that but in the end it was for porn - image compression (JPG), video compression, higher internet speeds, larger disk drives and so on.
But recently i feel that there is a quantum leap missing - the last big thing that went on was the rise of a tube type of sites, and it was all bad for the industry.
As im looking for parralels elsewhere, lets take music industry. No big players are pushing regular CD/DVD/whatnot sales anymore. Because there is internet, and everyone can get anything for free. So they concetrate efforts on live concerts and thats where the money is. But that aint gonna hapen with porn, is it? There will be no live pornstar tours or something.
So where is it going to be? Is it really going to be AI? Some kind of devices, that let you feel like you are really into thing?

I took a look at the most powerful supercomputer there is out there at the moment: Roadrunner http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Roadrunner

It is like 200K of my home computers together. It was able to emulate half of the rats brain. According to Moore's law in about 20 years or so, average home computer will have the processing power equal to human brain. That makes me go hmm, to say the least. Will we eventually end up as some kind of cyborgs? Part human, part machine? Or what about those dolls they are making? They look realistic already! What will be next?

So, what are your thoughts about this?

Well it had to happen one day. I'm now a fan of blogs and twitter. Been looking into these two things a lot over the last few days, setting up test accounts to get the hang of things and basically just practice.

It was Ponfar and Gregory from here on TNB that prompted me to look at twitter. Many thanks, and I've learnt a lot. I didnt really want to get into these things to begin with as I thought they'd take up too much time from my other projects.

They do sort of, but now I can see ways of intergrating everything, so they'll end up enhancing my little online empire. I'm currently going to be concentrating on my sissy and crossdressing niches, although I have a few other 'not so golden' eggs that I will move into sometime after the summer.

And speaking of summer, the damn school holidays start here at the end of the week. That usually puts and end to most of my site building and updating for a while. So I've decided to start a mainstream site, something I can work on and not have to worry about little people barging into the office.

Yes, this is another 'new' thing for me, mainstream. More news on that as it gets up and running, although I've had the domain name for many years, just sitting there waiting for a moment of inspiration. And this has been an inpiring few days

Very sad to hear about MJ. I'm not a celebrity kinda guy but his talent was unequaled. So far ahead of anything in it's time...even today.

I grew up on rock and roll and back in the later 80s all I knew of him was the "Ben" song.

A friend of mine has a daughter who wanted to go see him as he was coming into town. She wanted to go with her buddy and her dad couldn't stand the thought of sitting through an MJ concert.

There were a total of 4 tickets...so one of our other friends, myself and the 2 girls went.

We weren't 5 minutes into the show and I was in awe.
The absolute perfectionist, consummate performer.

I've seen loads of shows over the years and his is certainly in the top 5...maybe number 1 for the degree of perfection - he, the dancers and band had.

I've been a fan ever since that show. Huge bummer.

I know he had a sense of humor so after his last post, I teased him about the nurses that he might have in the ICU being to much for him. I think he would have laughed for sure about that.

One thing about it, the ones who go on before us leave our lives richer for the time they spend here.

it is with extreme sadness that i come here today, as tnb has lost another one of its own. torone passed away on may 28th.

i received an email from his account from either his wife or a relative, in response to one i had sent to him asking if he was ok. she (the sender) asked me to let the tnb webmasters know.

he was a retired trucker, so please take a moment to wish bob well on this next journey and also reflect upon his impact on tnb AND our lives. he was a talented webmaster, as well as a quite prolific writer. he was also a VERY good friend to me, personally. he was from texas and we exchanged several emails over the many years we knew each other. we even cheered each other up many times. he could always make me laugh.

torone liked beer, by the way. i'm not sure he could drink any due to his declining health. BUT - i imagine he and finnbear are having one right now.

It would only use the first 366 links. For more links you should indeed set a cookie to the surfer's PC. You could then use a random rotation. I don't have much experience in setting cookies so I'm afraid I'm not of much help in that field.

well, the simplest I could think of is this which would show a different link every day of the month:


$date=date(j);

//Only needed for format characters starting with 1

Then in sites.txt there are the links, one per line. For a daily change once per month you would need 31 links in $files.

There are other possibilities for the above script:

$date=date(z);
Change daily, 366 links needed
$date=date(w);
Change the links once a day of the week, 7 links needed
$date=date(W);
Change weekly, 52 links needed
$date=date(n);
Change monthly, 12 links needed

(Check here for the date()-command in PHP: http://en.php.net/manual/en/function.date.php)

Please note that some oth the above countings start with 1, others with 0. So you have to add or omit the if ($date > 0)-statement, depending on which one you are using.

Well, there are so many links ( galleries, embedded .flv etc. etc.)
it wouldn't be possible to do a "real" rotation or limit it to 365. "Fake" is all good.

What I'm hoping to do is take Big Bear's ( I think it was his) "pick how many and show 'em" from a .txt file

I'm trying to eliminate freeloaders refreshing the page to get a new list of galleries, video etc. If they want to see more they have to come back tomorrow.

Sometimes I have the script showing as many as 8 with multiple instances on a page ( I.E. fake TGP )

Now that I've done a bit of research and seen other code...I'm not sure it's possible with the code above...or beyond my PHP skills lol.

I'm going to take BoldBoy's code for a test drive in a bit.

I am going to work on this, there is something with this that will work. I am going to develop a business model and I let you guys see it. I think if done right? I just need to check the numbers again make sure it's worth the time.
There could be a Huge market in mainstream and a perfect way to carry over traffic to adult.

I wonder if this could be done with a free members area where each member has a todo list? Each todo list item links to a video they have to purchase that gives them their next instructions.

They then have to post proof of completing each step or they get emailed over and over to get it done. Or locked out of the free members area until they complete the next step.

Well DAMN!!! I thought I had a new niche I could do. I contacted our skydiving group that we sky dive with and told them I wanted to do some accelerated free fall naked!

They told me no! ARRGGGG! Told it was an insurance problem. They said I could simulate it on the ground and they would watch though.
